The weather had more of an effect than expected on the result of race 2 of the Norwegian Grand Prix. High winds and heavy rain forced the organisers to first postpone the start of the race and as the afternoon progressed conditions did not improve, therefore they were reluctantly forced to cancel the race on safety grounds, as the rescue boats would have had problems operating in the high sea state.
The crew of Victory Team were left frustrated, as they were confident that in the longer race they had the speed to make up for the penalty long lap and so gain some revenge for the previous days result. The positive to take from this is that we go to the next race in Stressa with a 5 point lead in the Championship, but the biggest disappointment is for the Norwegian race fans who missed out on seeing another nail biting chapter of the 2011 Class 1 Championship. We can just hope that we return next year and give them a bigger better race experience.
