Victory 3 and 4 are ready for the qualifying session at China
The Grand Prix of China Zhengzhou is taking on the Yellow River today, which attracted the attention of sports enthusiasts worldwide. The event is the second round of the 2023 UIM F1H2O World Powerboat Championship with the participation of 20 boats including the teams from the UAE, such as the Victory Team, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
The duo of the Victory team, our champion Ahmed Abdul Kareem Al Fahim, the captain of the Victory 3 boat, and his Swedish colleague Eric Stark, the captain of the Victory 4 boat, are preparing today - Saturday - to participate in the best time qualifiers, which represents the first important stages of the event starting at three o'clock in the afternoon local time in China, and eleven o'clock in the morning UAE time. The results of the qualifiers will determine the starting positions in the main race of the round, which will be held tomorrow.
Yesterday we witnessed the official tests carried out by the Technical & Administrative teams during the Extra Free Practice to ensure the readiness of the racers and boat engine. The team faced difficulty as the wind speed at Yellow River heightens which prevented some racers from completing the test.
Our champion, Al Fahim was forced to stop the test after his boat flew in the air and then landed on the water surface without any harm or damage. He will check if the boat is all good to race for the qualifying tomorrow and for the main race on Sunday.
On the trial run, Al Fahim's boat recorded 49.22 seconds as his best time to finish the course which is around 1986 meters long. Meanwhile, his teammate Erick Stark completed the 8 laps with his fastest lap of 50.08 seconds.
Al Fahim, the captain of Victory 3, said that, "Praise be to God for everything. I was in a situation that restricted my movement, but thank God it turned out well. We are now preparing for the qualifying rounds to get the best times and start the race in good positions."
